Job Description

Your objective:

You’re a dynamic Growth Marketing Leader, who will be responsible for crafting and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy. This includes overseeing various marketing domains such as product marketing, performance marketing, events, social media marketing, and partnerships.

How you'll help us achieve it

  1. Develop and oversee the company's growth strategy in collaboration with AgoPay’s Management Team.
  2. Establish a robust growth and marketing division within AgoPay
  3. Regularly report and forecast crucial business metrics, including customer growth, retention, revenue, engagement, NPS, and profit margins.
  4. Innovate in user acquisition, targeting the first major milestones of customers.
  5. Gain an in-depth understanding of our current and potential users and their motivations.
  6. Master our customer acquisition channels, marketing funnels, and tools.
  7. Manage the marketing budget effectively across various tools and channels.
  8. Lead growth experimentation, optimizing existing channels and exploring new opportunities.
  9. Champion a data-driven culture, emphasizing instrumentation and attribution.
  10. Work closely with the Product Team to refine user experience, copy, and messaging.
  11. Maintain and develop the AgoPay and AgoGo brand and voice, ensuring consistency across all communications.
  12. Lead and expand the Growth/Marketing Team.

Key Responsibilities

General:

  1. Manage, motivate, and mentor other team members along with a variety of personnel to create a positive, constructive, and performance-driven dynamic, while driving efficiencies.
  2. Establish the strategic vision and direction for AgoPay/AgoGo sales.
  3. Drive “Best Practices” across the business. Once a “Best Practice” has been identified, ensure that the practice is visible nationally and to another subsidiary.
  4. Managing sales operations with a focus on achieving predefined sales targets. Forecasting and planning monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets and executing them in each time frame.
  5. Work closely with Heads of other Business Units to understand sales/business performance trends and position partnership engagements adequately.
  6. Negotiate solutions, resolve conflicts, and provide solutions in the best interest of the company, and our customers/clients and employees.
  7. Act as a leader within the country. Understand the priorities of the country operations and support the Country Director and Heads of other Business Units when necessary.
  8. Support the optimization of various activities to ensure best practices are entrenched towards more efficient processes.

Sales Management and Revenue Assurance:

  1. Formulating sales strategy and ensuring sales goals are achieved.
  2. Provide regular reporting on sales management, sales pipeline development, forecasting, key account status, market condition updates, sales results, and budget performance.
  3. Develop and implement robust sales management processes. Stringently monitor revenue pipeline to ensure revenue targets and achievements.

Business Growth and Support:

  1. Identify new markets and business opportunities for sales and revenue growth.
  2. Market research across the HMG business, including but not limited to marketing, business development, review, and budgeting, across Husk sites and Potential Sites.
  3. Development of accurate segmentation and targeting of the market including identification of customer and market opportunities, market entry/expansion strategy, establishing a balance of long-term pipeline and short-term revenue.
  4. Create community market intelligence packs to drive customer sizing and customer pricing decisions. Establish scalable promotional tools and processes.
  5. Support business growth and continuous cost & and quality improvements in the business.

Stakeholders Management:

  1. Coordinate, maintain regular communication, and develop positive and productive relationships with various stakeholders, regulatory stakeholders, customer groups, etc.
  2. Collaboration and convergence with the Operations/Service, IT and Software and, the finance department to ensure successful implementation of business plans.
  3. Build and maintain a high-performing sales team whilst promoting individual/team performance and a collaborative attitude across board.

In your first month, you’ll

  1. Learn what we do, how our product works and what new products we are building.
  2. Build a structure for monitoring progress and measuring the success of campaigns and marketing activities.
  3. Gain an in-depth understanding of our current and potential users and their motivations.
  4. Review existing content calendar and create a new one for our social media, newsletter, and blog.
  5. Lead the creation of reports and white papers for fintech, loan financing management, BNPL ecommerce, embedded logistics in Africa.
  6. Lead the creation of video testimonials and contents of our clients – users, merchant, and partners across Africa.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B Marketing, with a focus on both small and medium-sized businesses, SEO and growth marketing.
  2. Proficient in marketing analytics and applying insights to optimize campaigns.
  3. Demonstrated ability in being analytical and data driven.
  4. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  5. Proven track record of growth, with examples and outcomes of previous campaigns.
  6. Exceptional written, oral, and organizational skills.
  7. Experience in managing comprehensive, data-driven marketing, and communication strategies.
  8. Graduate from a leading institution with a related degree in Sales, Business Management, and marketing. Postgraduate degree in business and/or related professional qualifications is a plus.
  9. A clearly defined strategic thought process and a continuous improvement mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  10. This position requires an in-depth understanding of business development, sales, critical thinking, and the ability to provide time-bound solutions to the benefit of the company, and projects.
  11. Hands-on experience in driving sales within rural and peri-urban areas (B2C & B2B)
  12. Great relationship management skills and an understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  13. Excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and project management tools (MS Project, Asana, Slack, etc.)
  14. In-depth knowledge of the Real Estate, Automobile and Senior – Tertiary Education sector in Nigeria, a plus. Business-level fluency in relevant Nigerian languages, an added advantage.
  15. Familiarity with relevant marketing tools and platforms for campaign activation.
